He Carried the Cross - Then Darkness Covered the Earth ~ Mark 15:21-39 (Part 1)

A stranger was forced to carry the Cross. Then, in the middle of the day, darkness covered the land. In Part 1 of this Breathe Easy TV Bible study, Ben explores Mark 15:21-39 - from Simon of Cyrene carrying Jesus’ Cross to the darkness, final cry, and death of Jesus.

Simon did not plan to carry this burden. He was simply passing by when his life unexpectedly crossed paths with Christ. Many of us understand what it means to carry something we never chose - addiction, grief, trauma, regret, loss, or the difficult work of recovery.

Then darkness came. “At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.” - Mark 15:33

Even Jesus entered the darkness. His suffering reminds us that feeling abandoned does not mean God has abandoned our story. The Cross reveals a love willing to enter human pain - and a hope that reaches us even in our darkest moments.

This Bible study is for anyone seeking recovery, redemption, forgiveness, or a way forward. You do not need perfect faith or a perfect past.

Come as you are.
