Sabbath Rest

Stillness + Creation + Renewal

You don’t always need another activity. Sometimes you need permission to stop.

Happy Acres provides places where individuals, couples, families, ministry groups, and community members can step away from everyday demands and intentionally practice rest.

Come As You Are

All Are Welcome

Rest In Creation

Permission To Stop

Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
— Mark 6:31

A Gift of Rest

Rest appears throughout Scripture not as laziness, but as something intentionally set apart.

Even Yahewa withdrew from crowds. He sought quiet places. He prayed. He rested.

Sabbath reminds us that our worth isn't measured only by what we accomplish. There is value in stopping. There is value in silence. There is value in sitting beneath a tree and watching the afternoon pass.

At Happy Acres, we create physical space where that can happen.

Nothing to accomplish.
Nowhere else you need to be.
Permission to simply rest.

STILLNESS + CREATION

Sometimes four walls aren't what we need. We need sky. Trees. Birdsong. Fresh air. The warmth of a fire.

A quiet corner where nobody is asking anything from us. Just space for you to breathe.

Throughout Scripture, people repeatedly encounter moments of prayer, reflection, revelation, and renewal in creation.

Mountains. Gardens. GongFu Tea. Sound Bath. Meditation. Wilderness. Rivers. Breathwork. Quiet places. Stillness in YOUR Life!

Sabbath Rest invites you to reconnect with that simplicity.

WHAT DOES SABBATH REST LOOK LIKE?

There is no schedule you have to follow.

There is no class.

There is no performance.

There is nothing you're required to accomplish.

Your time at Happy Acres might look like:

• Reading beneath a tree
• Prayer or Scripture meditation
• Journaling
• Walking quietly around the property
• Sitting beside a fire
• Listening to the birds
• Sharing conversation with someone you love
• Drinking a cup of tea
• Watching the sunset
• Taking a nap
• Reflecting on something happening in your life
• Putting your phone away for an hour
• Or doing absolutely nothing

Rest doesn't have to be productive to be meaningful.

THE PRACTICE OF BEING STILL

Stillness can feel surprisingly unfamiliar. We're accustomed to filling empty moments.

STOP.

Not forever.

Just long enough to remember that life continues even when you're not accomplishing something.

You may pray. You may meditate. You may think. You may cry. You may laugh. You may fall asleep beneath a blanket. Or you may simply sit quietly.

There is nothing you are required to feel, believe, say, or experience.

We simply hold the space.

COME ALONE. COME TOGETHER.

Sabbath can be deeply personal. But rest can also happen in community.

Happy Acres welcomes individuals seeking quiet, Couples needing time to reconnect, Families wanting an afternoon together, Friends who need somewhere peaceful to talk.

Ministry groups & Church groups, Caregivers who need peace, Community members navigating busy or difficult seasons, and Visitors simply looking for somewhere to breathe.

Sometimes fellowship means gathering with a crowd.

Sometimes fellowship is two people sitting beside a fire having the conversation they've been postponing.

Both matter.

REST + PRAYER

Prayer doesn't always require words. Sometimes prayer is gratitude. Sometimes it's asking for direction. Sometimes it's sitting quietly with something you don't yet understand.

And sometimes the only prayer we have left is a deep breath.

Happy Acres provides space for personal prayer, Scripture meditation, reflection, and spiritual contemplation without requiring participation in a particular denomination or religious activity.

You are welcome to pray. You are welcome to read. You are welcome to ask questions. You are welcome to simply rest.

You don't have to believe exactly as we do to be welcomed by us.

REST + FIRE + WATER + SOUND

Sabbath Rest can stand completely on its own. But it also provides the foundation beneath many of our other ministry experiences.

You might spend part of your Sabbath beside the warmth of a wood-burning fire. Experience the mineral-rich spring water of Baptism by Fire.

Become quiet enough to listen during Sacred Sound.

Share tea. Walk the property. Pray. Journal. Or simply find a comfortable place and stay there. Breathe Easy for yourself.

These aren't activities you have to complete. You do not have to become a member to be welcomed here.

They're simply different resources available to help create an environment where rest, fellowship, reflection, and renewal can happen.

COME AS YOU ARE

Sabbath Rest is open to our community.

You don't need to become a member of Breathe Easy SpeakTeasy to participate.

You don't need to arrive with a spiritual goal.

And you certainly don't need to arrive rested.

That's kind of the point.

Come tired. Come busy. Come overwhelmed. Come curious. Come with someone you love. Or come because you haven't had an hour completely to yourself in longer than you can remember.

Whatever brings you here, our hope is simple:

That you leave carrying a little less than when you arrived.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SUPPORT THE MINISTRY

Creating places where people can simply rest takes a community.

Breathe Easy SpeakTeasy exists because people choose to participate, volunteer, give, and believe that spaces like this matter.

Contributions help us care for Happy Acres, maintain gathering and outdoor spaces, provide firewood and supplies, support charitable hospitality, and continue making ministry experiences available to our community.

You do not have to become a member to be welcomed here.

For those who believe in what we're creating, membership, volunteering, and charitable giving provide ways to help us continue welcoming others.

A MINISTRY OF BREATHE EASY SPEAKTEASY

Sabbath Rest is offered through Breathe Easy SpeakTeasy (B.E.S.T.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious ministry at Happy Acres.

Our ministry holds space for fellowship, spiritual practice, charitable hospitality, education, recreation, community gathering, Sabbath rest, and opportunities for personal and spiritual renewal.

Happy Acres gives that mission a physical home—a place where people can gather together and a place where they can withdraw for a little while.

Participation contributions and charitable support help care for the property and sustain the continuing religious and charitable mission of Breathe Easy SpeakTeasy.

Our ministry is intended to serve people from many walks of life.

There is room for you here.

Come Away For A While

Stillness to quiet.
Creation to reconnect.
Space to breathe.
Time to rest.

Read. Walk. Pray. Talk. Journal. Nap. Listen. Watch the sunset.

Or do absolutely nothing.

Whatever brought you here, we hope you leave carrying a little less than when you arrived.

Holding Space for Our Community to Grow & Thrive.
