Oct 17th marks the day our world shifted and we lost a lot but gained knowledge.
The history of our Facility
Breathe has been opened since September 2015, we started out as a little 800 sq ft, 2 room, 1 bath spa in a 5,000 sq ft building. We expanded and eventually renovated just under 2000 sq ft of the building adding another massage room, 2 person foot treatment room, hair salon and yoga studio. We had 4 LMTs, a yoga instructor and hair stylist. But six weeks after the hair salon went it, just before 9am on Tuesday, October 17th, our building caught fire. The only person in the building was our hair stylist and this is her account of what took place, she plugged in a few things like every morning and she heard a pop. The light went out and she walked into the utility closet to flip the breaker back on. But by the time she came out of the breaker room, smoke was barreling in from the room where the light went out. She was able to get out safe. Once the fire reached our essential oil retail case, it exploded and the spa was gone in a matter of 10 minutes.
We had no insurance and had to start again from scratch. We started a Go Fund Me page and we are so thankful the communities support! We were able to move into a new location (complete with a sprinkler system!) within 6 weeks of the fire. We are now going strong with 6 LMTs, 2 anesthetists 3 yoga instructors, a viberational sound therapist and an herbalist in a 3,200 sq ft facility. We have 8 rooms, a living that seats 8 people for foot treatments, a wellness room (Song bowl & Shirodhara style share), yoga studio with second floor views of 3rd street, and 5 massage, facial & waxing treatment rooms (2 double as couples massage room.)
We are truly blessed to be in the new space and have a safe place to heal. We are in between 2 restaurants. The Barberry Steakhouse on the bottom and 1882 Grille sports bar with rooftop dining above. We also have a wonder local artist that shares the second floor with us, John Stromme. Please join us on this healing journey, our passion and hearts are in the right place.
We are still in recovery mode so effective October 17th, 2018 we will be raising our service costs by $10 to accommodate our vision of growth for Breathe Body & Spa. This will allow us to continue providing the level of healing and care you are used to from the Breathe Body & Spa family. Clients that are returning within four weeks will still receive $15 (18%) off for Therapeutic and $20 (22%) off for deep tissue massage services.
December 1st will mark one year at the current location and will be the last day to redeem points for a free massage, after this date your points will be redeemable for an add-on to your massage such as Hot Stone, Cupping or Dry Brushing.
